Over the past couple of years we've been provided with several decal marking options for French Sherman tanks, both within kits (Dragon) as well as aftermarket (ARMO and Peddinghaus, for example). But until the release of this set, I've not had any appropriate figures for the French tanks. I had always read that the French were supplied with American gear and uniforms, so that I could simply use American tank crew figures for French. However, these figures here have very distinct helmets. They almost look like and American steel pot put on backwards, but I assume that they represent the French helmet design. Aside from that, the uniforms and small arms are all American made. These figures are extremely well molded, and I like the variety of poses a lot. A few heads and arms are provided as separate parts for extra detail, and allowing for a small amount of customization. The standing figures are from 24 to 25mm tall, which makes them perfect for 1/72nd scale.
