A
very small but useful set. It consists of only the engine
access grates, brush guards for headlights and tailights,
and some details for the .50cal machinegun -- all items
that are best reproduced as etched parts -- so no wasted
brass here. However, it was not perfectly etched; the two
etching passes were not lined up properly, and there is a
lip along the edges of the parts. Hopefully they are so
small that it won't be noticeable once built and painted. Although the set is labeled for
the Armourfast M4A3, in theory it could be used for any
M4A3 on the market. I say "in theory" because
as we saw with the M4A2, no two kits have identical
dimensions for their engine access grates. I will soon do
a comparison article showing differences between kits and
aftermarket parts for the M4A3, as I previously did for the M4A2. Initial measurements, though, appear to
show this piece being on the large side.
