Modeling the Sherman Tank in 1/72nd Scale |
Armorscale Article by Doug Chaltry; last updated 26 May 2008. This barrel looks beautiful with a nice taper and gorgeous brass muzzlebrake. However, measured from its base to the end of the muzzlebrake (when assembled) is it anywhere from 1.5 to 4mm too long, depending on which "scale" drawings I use. Hopefully some of the barrel length will be hidden within the collar of the rotor shield. Note that while being labeled as an M1A1C, the only difference between this gun and the M1A2 was the rifling inside the barrel, so this piece could just as easily be the later gun as well. |
