Modeling the Sherman Tank in 1/72nd Scale

M4A2 & M4A3 Engine Screens Tracks & Troops

These two accessories are sold separately, as either singles, or 3- and 5-packs (M4A2: #TTPE002; M4A3: #TTPE003).

These are some of those items that makes you wonder why nobody has done this before. Of all the details on the Sherman tank that I think really needs to be improved with photoetched parts, I think the engine screens rank up there as #1. Well, OK, maybe #2 after headlight and periscope brush guards. The engine screens on the Dragon Sherman kits are pretty decent compared to all the previous kits of the Sherman, yet even so, they can benefit greatly by etched replacements. And after recently building an old ESCI M4A3, I can say that I truly wish I had these several months ago. I've not yet tried to fit these to a model, so I don't know how well they will attach, but I have hopes that it will be problem-free. As you can see, hinges are included, though it would have also been nice to have the handles included as well, or at least small locator holes on the screen frames so that we can fabricate our own. These are very nice products, and they fill an important niche in the hobby.
