Polish Shermans in Italy - 2nd Polish Corps, 1945 | Toro Model Kit #72D02 |

I am always excited to
see new decals for Polish Shermans, especially from the
2nd Polish Corps. However, I am also somewhat
disappointed in the lack of markings for Polish Sherman
in action, during the war. The vast majority of markings
available to us for 2nd Corps Shermans are for tanks that
took part in the victory parade in Loreto, Italy, after
the war was over. Such is the case with this new set of
markings from Toro Model. While some of these particular
vehicles are new, they still only allow us to build tanks
from this parade. I would dearly like to see a set of
markings for Polish Shermans during the war. But aside
from that criticism, these decals look superb, with very
clear and crisp printing, thin carrier film, good colors
and excellent registration. I question two of the tank identifications below, those being the two Sherman Is. In the photos I have seen of these two tanks, they have both been identified as Sherman IIIs, and neither of the photos show any distinguishing characteristics to say one way or the other. I wonder why Toro has them labeled as Sherman Is. Unless I find evidence that they were Sherman Is, I will list them as Sherman IIIs on my Sherman Markings Table. Also, RYS-I should be a Sherman IC Firefly, not a Sherman III, although the marking guide depicts this correctly. Large, full-color marking guides for this set can be found at: http://www.toro-model.com.pl/pliki/72d02e.htm Markings are included for 10 Shermans:
