New Penguin Decals Sets #72008 & 72012 |

I am embarassed to say
that I had not heard of this manufacturer before now,
although they have apparently been around since 2013.
They have a wide range of decal sets for many
Soviet/Russian vehicles, and they recently released two
sets of markings for Lend Lease Shermans in the Red Army.
The quality of the decals appears to be top notch - very thin, sharply printed and bright colors - and the couple of multi-color markings are printed in perfect register. The clear carrier film looks very thin. There is a very wide selection of markings between these two sets, and they appear to have been extremely well researched. They even include the multitude of stenciling that was already present on the tanks at time of delivery. You never really realize the lack of markings from other manufacturers, particularly contained within kits, until you see the complete markings included here. The comprehensive instructions are a real treat, for they not only show the correct placement for all markings, but also call out the track type for each tank, if known, as well as illustrate the appropriate wheel styles. And they even translate the Russian slogans into English, for those of us who like to know what exactly we're putting onto our models. Markings included with set #72008:

My sincere thanks to New Penguin for sending in these decals sets for review. See more of their available decals here. |
